About Me
I started learning the piano at the age of three. I obtained Grade 8 (ABRSM) piano at the age of twelve and was awarded the Dorothy Fryer prize for the highest marks at this level. I graduated from the Toho Gakuen Music School in Tokyo with a degree in piano performance and a degree in teaching music. I studied with Professor Benjamin Kaplan in London who is a distinguished concert pianist.
I have performed on NHK television in Japan and given concerts in Britain including the Greig Piano Concerto with the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra in 2004. I currently teach at Oundle School as well as offering private piano lessons.
School History
Since opening my piano school in Peterborough in 2001 the number of students has grown considerably and I am very pleased that all students have attained good examination results in their piano studies.
It may seem daunting at first as you embark on finding a piano teacher and learning a musical instrument that appears complicated and unfamiliar.
I believe that my piano school has the finest facilities in the area with two piano studios containing three grand pianos and one digital piano. Each student is treated as an individual and the learning process is tailored to the student’s ability and needs. The learning experience is therefore more enjoyable and progress can be easily measured.
We offer one to one tuition at the piano and in theory lessons, together with group classes on ensemble playing, aural training and performing. Students are also encouraged to make their own recordings.
Child Protection
Child protection is taken extremely seriously. I and my staff are subject to a criminal record bureau check. As a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians and as the Regional Organiser of the European Piano Teacher’s Association I am bound by strict standards of ethics and professionalism.
